The Y is the leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community by connecting all people to their potential, purpose and each other. Working locally, we focus on empowering young people, improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across communities.
Our Strength is in Community
The Y is a nonprofit like no other. That’s because in 10,000 neighborhoods across the nation, we have the presence and partnerships to not just promise, but deliver positive change.
As one of Naugatuck’s leading nonprofits committed to helping people and our community succeed, our contributions are both far-reaching and intimate—from influencing our culture during times of profound social change to the individual support we provide to seniors, adults, families and youth.
By nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the borough’s health and well-being, and supporting and serving our neighbors, the Y ensures that everyone has the opportunity to become healthier, more confident, connected and secure.
As we continue to serve our community, we continue to build upon a legacy of positive impact, developed through our many successes over the last 120 years on behalf of the individuals and communities we are privileged to serve.
A character building membership organization serving the community by providing programs that enrich the spirit, mind and body.
We live our mission daily, one person and relationship at a time:
- Reaching 10,000 people annually of all backgrounds, abilities and financial circumstances
- Nurturing 3,000 children and teens to develop their gifts and give back to our community
- Engaging 240 volunteers who contribute 7,000 hours of service each year
- Providing more than $225,000 in direct financial support to our community members each year
